Europe’s leading battery research initiatives are coming together to compare results, align approaches, and tackle shared challenges on 20 May 2026 from 09:30 to 14:00 CET during the final event of the FASTEST project.
The event will be hybrid and it represents an important moment to reflect on achievements while identifying concrete pathways for advancing battery technologies in the future.
The THOR project will actively contribute to the event, with presentations delivered by coordinating partner CEA. The morning session will focus on FASTEST’s results and impact, including an overview of its hybrid testing platform, key technical outcomes, and perspectives for exploitation beyond the project’s lifetime.
A dedicated session on the twinBATT cluster will follow, where THOR and other sister projects will present their work, highlighting complementarities and the role of digitalisation in transforming battery development. This exchange will feed into a roundtable discussion addressing some of the most pressing topics for the sector, including the digitalisation of battery testing as a driver for European industrial competitiveness, the role of hybrid testing and digital twins, and the need for validation, trust, certification, and data interoperability. Barriers to industrial adoption and future needs in terms of research, infrastructure, and regulation will also be explored.
THOR’s participation in this event is particularly valuable in the context of cross-project collaboration. As part of the twinBATT cluster, both FASTEST and THOR contribute to advancing innovative approaches to battery testing and development, combining physical experimentation with digital tools to accelerate time-to-market and improve reliability. Engaging in this joint event enables the projects to align methodologies, share lessons learned, and reinforce synergies that maximise the overall impact of EU-funded research.
Beyond dissemination, the event provides a unique platform to connect with stakeholders, foster dialogue, and support the uptake of project results.
