The Consortium partners gather at Flash Battery’s headquarters

Last week, the 5th General Assembly took place in Sant’Ilario D’Enza hosted by Flash Battery, marking a pivotal moment in the project’s development. During the meeting, partners discussed significant progress made in recent months and outlined the path forward.

One of the highlights was the presentation of prototype battery modules and packs, specially developed for the project. These prototypes are essential for the development and validation of the Digital Twin and represent the result of a co-design process conducted in close collaboration with consortium partners.

Following rigorous preparation, the project is now moving into an intensified testing phase. A well-structured experimental test matrix has been defined, covering performance, aging, and safety evaluation.

Initial aging tests have been launched, the first simulation completed, and post-mortem analyses are about to start. Initial calibration of the performance model at the cell level has also been finalised, and the validation tests are being planned. The connection between the ageing and safety models featuring shared parameters is being prepared. This amalgamation will help refine the implemented equations.

Progress on the STELLAIRE platform continues, with the first version already uploaded for sharing data, and joint activities currently underway. Meanwhile, cells from Batch 1 have been delivered, Batch 2 cells are assembled, ready to enter the activation and formation phase before being tested.

The project has also achieved key developments in software, with the first dummy versions of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) prepared on two different platforms, enhancing user interaction possibilities.

With model development in progress, the project is entering an exciting new chapter. The General Assembly has reaffirmed the partners’ shared vision and commitment to innovation, setting a strong foundation for the months ahead.
