Our consortium gathered on 6–7 May 2026 in Patras, Greece, at the premises of FEAC Engineering, for the project’s General Assembly meeting.

A General Assembly is always a key moment for exchange and in-depth discussion among partners, providing the opportunity to share progress, align activities, and collectively assess the overall health and direction of the project. With THOR now entering its final year, this meeting represented an especially important milestone for consolidating the first results achieved so far and discussing how they can be further refined and ultimately exploited to maximise their impact.

During the two-day meeting, partners presented updates on several core project activities, including the definition of specifications and prototyping for cells, modules and packs, the development and upscaling of performance, aging, and safety models, and the ongoing development, validation, and demonstration of THOR’s Digital Twin for batteries.

These activities are central to the project’s ambition to create advanced virtual testing methodologies capable of accelerating battery development while improving safety, reliability, and sustainability.

The consortium also discussed the next steps toward exploitation, exploring how the project’s results can support the future deployment of digital twin technologies and AI-driven battery tools across mobility and stationary energy storage applications.

By fostering collaboration across research, industry, and technology providers, THOR continues to support Europe’s ambition to accelerate the digitalisation and sustainability of the battery sector while reducing development time, costs, and environmental impact.
