Giving LIFE to Europe’s clean energy transition: from policy to action

News releases 23 February 2026

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency has just released "Giving LIFE to Europe’s clean energy transition", a new publication spotlighting the real-world impact of the EU’s LIFE Clean Energy Transition (CET) sub-programme.

Published in February 2026, the report brings to attention how EU policy and funding are accelerating the shift to energy efficiency and renewable energy across Europe.

The LIFE CET framework is precisely about turning policy into actions by creating favourable market and regulatory conditions that support businesses that are developing and deploying clean energy services and technologies in line with strategic EU energy policy objectives.

That has clear implications for strategic projects in the energy and battery sectors, such as Thor: for anyone involved in clean technologies landscape, this report offers both inspiration and practical models that can be replicated across Europe.

The publication tells the stories of 28 concrete projects that are driving measurable reductions in energy consumption and boosting renewable energy production, highlighting how people, cities and organisations are turning climate goals into practical outcomes.

These project examples show why the publication is worth reading: in the word of  Energy and Housing Commissioner Dan Jørgensen, LIFE CET projects “show that supporting market demand for energy efficiency and clean energy solutions is not a cost – it is a long-term investment in Europe’s prosperity, competitiveness, and resilience.”
